About Us
Who we are
For more than a century, the Boys & Girls Club Family Center has been a cornerstone of Springfield, providing a safe, welcoming place where children and families can grow, connect, and thrive.
Founded in 1899, the Family Center has continually evolved to meet the changing needs of the community while remaining rooted in a simple, enduring mission: to enable all young people-especially those who need us most-to reach their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.
Our work is built on a family-centered approach. We partner with families through trusting relationships, access to community resources, and an environment where every voice is valued and heard. By strengthening families, we strengthen our community.
As part of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America network, we are proud to carry forward a national legacy of opportunity, empowerment, and impact, while staying deeply connected to the families and neighborhoods we serve every day.
We are on a mission
to enable all young people to reach their full potential by providing a safe, positive, and inclusive environment where they can develop into productive, caring, and responsible citizens.
Our Leadership
The Family Center is guided by a dedicated Board of Directors, currently led by Interim Board President Tonya Ward.
